This recognition represents the heart of Burn Boot Camp, honoring locations that have successfully maintained 600 or more members throughout the qualifying period of June 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025.

“Receiving the Mark of Excellence Award is an incredible honor. Each day, we get to do what we love, supporting our members and creating positive impact right here in our community. This award reflects the passion and dedication our team brings to making a difference,” said Caroline Jones.

The Acworth community joined in celebrating the award during a ceremony held at the gym on September 13, 2025. In addition to receiving an award onsite, the Joneses were recognized at Burn Boot Camp’s annual awards ceremony.

The Mark of Excellence award allows our brand to honor franchise partners who go above and beyond, and that is Caroline and Daniel,” said Morgan Kline, CEO and co-founder of Burn Boot Camp. “Through their dedication to empowering members and creating meaningful experiences at every location they operate, Caroline and Daniel embody the type of growth and innovation Burn Boot Camp is striving for as we continue to expand and elevate the member experience.”

A Franchise Partner Story: How I Went From the Corporate World to Owning 6 Burn Boot Camp Locations https://burnbootcamp.com/a-franchise-partner-story-how-i-went-from-the-corporate-world-to-owning-6-burn-boot-camp-locations/ Thu, 07 Nov 2024 13:00:00 +0000 https://burnbootcamp.com/?p=2791369 Picture this. You move across multiple states to get a corporate job with a multi-billion dollar company. You’re great at your job and you love what you do, but one day, you walk into work and find out that your entire department has been eliminated.

For Jim Safron, this nightmare was a reality. This motivated Jim to change his entire career path by opening his first Burn Boot Camp location, “I never want to be in that position again. I would rather bet on myself, and thankfully, their severance package was the exact price we needed to buy into Burn.”

Through his success, he prides himself on creating the best possible teams to help him run his gyms. “If we’re going to be successful, I need to put incredible people around me,” Jim recalls. His other business strategy is simple, “I talk about strategy a lot—building a strategy, putting a simple process together so that the people on the ground in the gyms every day can execute it. We’ve kept it very simple.” This strategy has allowed him to replicate his success in opening even more locations. Now, Jim and his wife, Nicole, currently own three Burn Boot Camp locations with an additional three in development.

What gave you the confidence to open your first Burn Boot Camp?

“It’s really a crazy story. I was applying for jobs when my Wi-Fi went out. I didn’t know what to do, so I got on my phone, and a Steve Harvey video came up. He talked about taking a chance, and that if you ever want to know your full potential, you’ve got to be able to jump. You’ve got to be able to take that opportunity when it’s sitting in front of you and make it happen. It sounds crazy, but it was really the beginning.”

“A few months before that, my wife had received a flier from Burn Boot Camp about franchising opportunities. I called her on the phone and asked where she had put the flier.”

What about Burn made you feel like that chance was worth taking?

“I love the model. I felt like it was the winner. There was something very intriguing about empowering women. And to this day, we only serve women in our gyms. We never went coed in any of my gyms, and I would never plan to do that. I think there is something special about women when they get together, and there are just no guys around that make it special and they build. They build their own communities and their own support systems.”

Talk to me about your ownership journey. How has that progressed from the beginning to where you are now?

“Our gym in Woodstock was a learning experience for us. My first Trainer, Jody, now owns the location in Peachtree City. We went through that journey together, and we learned a lot of the right things to do, and certainly a lot of the wrong things to do.”

“Financially, we didn’t have the money to open more than one Burn Boot Camp before Atlanta. The areas that I was interested in were already taken. So, I talked with Burn Boot Camp’s Vice President of Franchising, and we started looking at areas. I had heard of Hoover, Alabama because it was one of the top-producing areas. We started looking at the demographics in that area, and I believe that was where our true journey began.”

“We were able to take what we had, the mistakes we made in Woodstock, and we did a lot better. We took everything that we learned from those gyms, and we put it into Hoover, and it exploded. That’s when I knew I had something.”

What is it about the model that you think makes it work?

“I think the part of the model that clicks, at least for us, is that we were able to figure out strategies. I talk about strategy a lot—building a strategy, putting a simple process together so that the people on the ground in the gyms every day can execute it. We’ve kept it very simple. In the way that we execute the strategies and run the process, we found that we can replicate it. I don’t think you ever get comfortable with it. There’s a point there when you’re scared, and you’re nervous, but it’s also very exciting.”

How has the support from Burn Boot Camp Headquarters helped you be successful in the business?

“HQ has given me air cover where I needed it. They’ve helped me where I needed help, but they also let me be when I needed to be. They know that I’m always going to do what I believe is the best thing for Burn. They’ve given me grace and allowed me to mess up.”

What is it about having that autonomy that’s important for you as a business owner?

“Oh, it’s my favorite part. It really is. As an example, when they said we’re going to make our gyms coed, I hated that idea. But they didn’t make me do it. You can do it, but you don’t have to do it. When we went to a rolling start on promotions, I didn’t like that idea. And they said you don’t have to do it, but it’s an option for you. And I love the fact that they give us options, and they give you the tools that you need to be able to execute those options.”

“This is a huge part of why I love Burn Boot Camp and why I’ll keep opening them. A lot of franchises aren’t like that.”

At the end of the day, opening multiple Burn Boot Camp gyms must be a smart financial decision for you as a business owner. How has it become that?

“It was scary. We sold our house and made the full move. You’re all in, or you’re not all in, right? We sold our house in Mooresville and moved to Birmingham. Nicole quit her job and got another job in Birmingham.”

“Everything started to come together. Financially, I never could have imagined living the way we live now. We have a beautiful home and a condo at the beach. We’ve got things, but we also have time. It’s incredible. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

“It’s that freedom to be able to do those things. It comes with the responsibility, too. I spend a lot of mornings up at 4 AM or 5 AM, but my day looks the way I want my day to look, for the most part. I think there’s a lot to be said for that. I get to work with people that I just love working with.”

What does it mean to you to be changing lives in your gyms every day?

“It means everything. I think when you go through intense workouts like that as a group of women, there are bonds that are built. I love when I pull into the parking lot after Camp and there are four or five women walking together and talking. That’s camaraderie. And that doesn’t happen by accident. That happens because you went through something together. I love that part of it. We build our community through strong women.”

Becoming An Award-Winning Franchise Partner with Holly Strickland https://burnbootcamp.com/becoming-an-award-winning-franchise-partner-with-holly-strickland/ Tue, 22 Oct 2024 15:26:35 +0000 https://burnbootcamp.com/?p=2791281 “You never know what someone is going through. You don’t know if their home life is horrible or if they hate their job. What we do know is that the 45 minutes they come in are going to be the best 45 minutes of their day. That’s why I take this role so seriously – because I know what that 45 minutes can do for someone’s life.”

Holly Strickland joined Burn Boot Camp Naples as the Head Trainer nearly nine years ago. Now as the owner and Franchise Partner of the same location, she gets to live her core values every day and see countless transformations right in her gym. “I couldn’t imagine Burn not in my life. When they say you ‘bleed blue’ I truly do. I love this brand and everything it represents. The core values are so close to mine and I truly believe that when you put people first you win,” she said about the impact Burn has in her life.

Now, Holly is thriving in her life as a Burn Boot Camp Franchise Partner. She received the Single-Unit Franchise Partner of the Year award in 2023 and was the first to receive Burn Boot Camp’s Mark of Excellence award. Her location in Naples, Florida has also been part of the Million Dollar Club and Fire Club, where the top qualifying gyms get to celebrate their achievements on an international trip. “I just feel blessed. I feel really blessed and really lucky,” Holly says about her experience as a Burn Boot Camp owner.

Read our interview with Holly to learn more about what life as a Burn Boot Camp Franchise Partner is like and how it’s changed not only her life but the lives of her Naples, Florida community as well. Learn more about our franchising opportunities or set up a call with our team to talk about what Burn Boot Camp ownership could mean for you.

What is it like to change lives every day in your gym?

Holly: I think that through owning Burn, there’s a fulfillment you get when Members tell you their story and what these four walls have done for them. To be able to experience and provide that for your community, it’s humbling.

Being front row to the transformations is empowering. Some people walk in here and you can tell they have no confidence whatsoever. They would wear baggy shirts and then all of a sudden they would start wearing tank tops and tighter pants. That transformation, for me, is probably one of the most common ones. Our job is to show people that they can be confident.

What is your favorite part about being a leader in your gym?

Holly: I always wanted to be the boss that I never had, but also build my leaders up and continue to show them how they can grow and be leaders to their teams. One of my favorite things in leadership is watching my team grow and how they grow with me. It’s been amazing to see. My Operations Manager started in Childwatch, then became the Childwatch Lead, and then became our Burn Ambassador. Now she’s the Operations Manager and she is an absolute rockstar.

What sets Burn Boot Camp apart from other franchises?

Holly: What makes Burn different is the community. There’s just nothing like it. When someone has something going on in their lives, this community will wrap their arms around each other like I’ve never seen before. When you walk in these doors, there’s no drama. It’s crazy when you have over 500 women in the same space and there’s no drama. It’s just an amazing place where women support women and they’re always there for each other.

What support do you get as a Burn Boot Camp owner?

Holly: It’s been a great journey having a partner in Headquarters. I didn’t join Burn with a degree in business or experience in that field. It’s scary to open a gym, but what makes it a little less scary, or maybe a lot less scary, is to know that you have that support. I love knowing that if something goes wrong, I have someone I can call. Someone who can help me solve a problem and find a solution. Having that partner with the brand just gives you an additional layer of confidence to be able to take that leap of faith and jump into a business like this.

What is one of your favorite parts about being a Burn Boot Camp Franchise Partner?

Holly: One of my favorite things about being a Franchise Partner is the flexibility that it provides. Yes, there are days that I’m here at 4:30 or 5:00 in the morning with the girls, but I also can leave at 3:00 PM to get my son if I need to. That’s one of the best parts of the gig, having that flexibility.

How does Burn Boot Camp align with your core values?

Holly: One of our core values is being authentic. That is one of the most important things in my life, always showing up as who I am. When you look at all of our core values in general, they all align with not only who I want myself to be, but also my son. I want to teach him those core values. I want to teach him that he can do all the things he wants to do in his life. Showing up in your most authentic self is a huge thing we try to make sure we’re encompassing in him.

How do you see yourself growing within Burn Boot Camp?

Holly: I’m always going to challenge myself to mentor and help other people. That’s something that I take seriously. You learn when you help someone help. I’m on the MAC for Burn Boot Camp Headquarters right now, which is the Marketing Advisory Council. That’s just one way that I want to continue to grow.

The second way is that we hope to open a second Burn Boot Camp location to continue to empower the Naples community. One of the reasons that I’m so motivated to continue to grow is because I know the impact that this gym makes on people’s lives. It’s something I’ve never seen before. It may be a mental transformation, it may be a physical transformation, or it may be someone who wants to show up to just be a better mom or wife. I think all those transformations are extremely valid. That’s what continues to drive my passion to grow and have another facility.

WHEN PASSION MEETS PURPOSE: A FRANCHISE PARTNER STORY https://burnbootcamp.com/when-passion-meets-purpose-a-franchise-partner-story/ Tue, 08 Oct 2024 13:43:19 +0000 https://burnbootcamp.com/?p=2791228 For Erin and Jeremy, freedom is being able to do what you want to do. That’s exactly what they found when they became Burn Boot Camp Franchise Partners.

Erin was ready to get out of the corporate world and was looking for a new business after working for twenty years in HR Management. At the same time, Burn Boot Camp Gainesville was opening its location right across the street. “I walked in my first impression was they were onto something here and that this is something special,” Erin recalls of her first time walking in the gym. The next thing she did was go home to her husband to let him know she was going to quit her job and open up her own Burn Boot Camp location. “I liked my old job, but I only liked it. I wanted to see the future of the next 25 years of my career going through the motions. When I saw what a quick change and impact it had on my own life going there, and even him when he joined, I knew this is what I wanted to do. I want to pay this forward and give this experience to as many people as possible and build something for my family they’ll hopefully take on one day.”

When Jeremy tried Burn Boot Camp for the first time, he fell in love with both the workouts and the community, “I finally went to a Camp and I’ve never been more sore in my entire life. I was exhausted. I loved it.” Erin and Jeremy signed the Franchise Disclosure Document just a few months after she first stepped on the Floating Floor. They opened their gym in Leesburg, Virginia, not only changing their lives but the lives of everyone in their community. “When I saw how great Erin was doing at Leesburg, to be honest, I got jealous. I was like, I don’t want to do my job anymore because your job looks way more fun,” said Jeremy.

Jeremy was ready to fully commit to being Burn Boot Camp Franchise Partners together, “The biggest aspect that made us want to go all in was the community of Burn in general. I’ve been a member of probably every single gym on the planet. But when I walked into Burn, it was like nothing I had ever been to before.” A few years after they opened their Leesburg location, they had the opportunity to open their second gym. The owner of the Burn Boot Camp in Woodbridge, Virginia was selling his location so he could stay in North Carolina. They both knew that they were ready to expand and purchased their second location.

“I didn’t feel like I had a purpose before. Changing people’s lives and pouring into other people has a daily positive impact on my life,” Erin says about being able to help her community. “I feel good every day knowing that I’m contributing to somebody else’s positivity and fitness journey. I’ve seen people meet their best friend, someone who is like a sister to them now. It’s just life changing.”

Franchising with Burn Boot Camp has made an impact on their entire family. Being able to bring their kids to work when they need to and have a flexible schedule has provided more balance in their family life. They’ve also witnessed how prioritizing fitness and leading by example has affected their kids. “We have two kids now who are teenagers, and they see us still getting up every morning at 3 or 4 a.m. to go workout. They see us wanting to do better and wanting to help other people. It’s starting to register in their minds. It makes us have a purpose as opposed to just getting up and sitting behind a desk all day,” Jeremy states. “Burn has gotten us closer as a family because we’re not leaving for work at 5 a.m. and sitting in traffic for two hours. We’re able to be with our kids a lot more. My son plays lacrosse in high school and we’re able to travel with him.”

Watch the full interview to hear more about Erin and Jeremy’s experience as Burn Boot Camp Franchise Partners and how this one decision has changed their lives forever. From Passion to Profession: A Family’s Journey into Burn Franchise Ownership  https://burnbootcamp.com/from-passion-to-profession-a-familys-journey-into-burn-franchise-ownership/ Thu, 13 Jun 2024 10:00:00 +0000 https://burnbootcamp.com/?p=2789845 When you first encounter Jon and Rebecca Metzger, it’s immediately apparent that they are a dynamic couple. Fit, grounded, and armed with a sharp, semi-sarcastic wit, they have an uncanny ability to stay attuned to everything around them. From keeping track of their two energetic boys to managing their bustling schedule, they exemplify efficiency and decisiveness. When it comes to being top performing Franchise Partners, this couple is all about calculated risk, high expectations, and big dreams. With their infectious energy, they naturally draw people into their orbit.

Rebecca hails from a small town in East Texas, while Jon comes from the historic city of Fairfax, Virginia. Their paths crossed in Arizona—Rebecca was attending Arizona State where she graduated with a degree in Urban Planning, and Jon was in Arizona for Spring Training, as he had been drafted to pitch for the Kansas City Royals during his junior year at The University of Virginia.

Both were highly active during their youth. Rebecca played multiple sports—volleyball, track, and basketball—and was an All-American cheerleader. “And, believe it or not, I used to really love to run back in the day,” she laughs, “I was a really good runner…”

Jon, a former minor league pitcher, exudes the focus, drive, and “no-quit” attitude of a professional athlete, traits evident when you find yourself next to him on the Floating Floor.

After moving back east to be closer to family, their mutual interests in real estate and investing, along with Jon’s role as a Financial Advisor, led them to Burn Boot Camp Franchising. “We were looking for a business to get into. We wanted something we were passionate about, something that we could both enjoy the day to day grind. Burn was the natural fit.”

Parents to two lively boys, Lincoln and Beckett (Bo), Jon and Rebecca are committed to setting a positive example, both within their community and at home. Their passion for changing lives through Burn Boot Camp locations and being a tight-knit family fuels their success and ability to inspire others.

Jon’s financial expertise combined with Rebecca’s leadership and problem-solving skills might suggest they micromanage their gyms, but they actually employ a delegation approach. This fosters a culture of trust, accountability, and innovation within their teams. “You have to trust your team,” Rebecca explains. “You can change your employees’ lives by providing opportunities for career and personal growth. We’ve seen marriages, babies, house purchases, new cars—those big life moments.”

Rebecca recalls advice from her father: “Your team will always take on the personality of the leader. Choose what type of leader you want to be.” By being positive leaders, the Metzgers inspire their communities and gym Members in turn.

Each of their four gyms, all within 30 minutes of each other, has its own distinct personality.  “You have to let each community take on its own character,” says Rebecca. “We provide the fitness product, the retail, the nutrition, and then the community fills in the rest.”

At home, Jon and Rebecca’s passion for Burn Boot Camp has a significant impact on their sons. They involve Lincoln and Beckett in their journey, teaching them the values of hard work, perseverance, and leadership. Doing their best to balance their roles as parents and Franchise Partners, they set a powerful example, demonstrating that dreams can be achieved through determination and teamwork, much like Jon’s baseball career.

When asked about Burn, nine-year-old Lincoln hit a very straightforward, line drive, “Burn’s great, but I don’t get to do anything,” lamenting about not quite being old enough to get out on the Floating Floor with his dad. Jon reassures him, “But I’m writing workouts for you now, right?” Lincoln nods, “So I’m ready.”

When asked to describe Burn in one word, Lincoln replies, “Fit.” I suggest that it includes mental fitness as well. “On the baseball field, are you mentally tough?” Jon asks him. “Oh, yeah,” Lincoln responds. Jon continues, “Did I help you with that? Burn helped me become more mentally tough. I wasn’t as mentally tough in baseball as I am now, having gone through Burn. I try to pass that on to you.” In a rare moment of stillness, Lincoln looks up at his dad, and their shared understanding is palpable.

The Metzger family’s story is not just about building a successful business that transforms lives but about a family united by passion and a determination to make each other proud.

Helping Communities Thrive with Morgan Kline, CEO https://burnbootcamp.com/helping-communities-thrive-with-morgan-kline-ceo/ Tue, 31 Oct 2023 13:37:58 +0000 https://burnbootcamp.com/?p=2787841 Our co-founder, Morgan Kline, was recently interviewed for Franchise Times and we’ve got the recap below! Check out the full article here.

Morgan Kline, the driving force behind Burn Boot Camp, has learned tons since starting this fitness revolution a decade ago. She’s all about embracing your mistakes because, let’s face it, they’re your best teachers. Every slip-up, whether it’s a financial hiccup or a bump in the road, can be a stepping stone to something greater. “Learn from every stumble, and you’ll always come out stronger,” Morgan says.

Fast forward to 2022, and Burn Boot Camp is on fire! We’ve got over 300 locations spread all across the nation and made a jaw-dropping $158.5 million in systemwide sales. That’s nearly a 32% jump from 2021! Not to mention, Morgan took the reins as CEO in August 2022, succeeding her hubby, Devan Kline, who had been the big boss since 2015. Devan’s now our visionary guru, focusing on building awesome relationships with our Franchise Partners.

For Morgan, every milestone we hit is a badge of honor. From reaching 100 locations to 200 and finally 300, it’s been a humbling reminder of the incredible journey we’ve been on.

Now, let’s rewind a bit. Morgan’s journey started in Michigan with a degree in food marketing. She even rocked it at Kellogg’s before joining forces with Devan to create Burn Boot Camp. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. We’re talking no business experience, no financial backing, and landlords who weren’t giving them the time of day.

While Morgan was still juggling her Kellogg’s gig, they kicked things off in a parking lot. No fancy gym, just pure passion and grit. The couple even sublet a dance studio to make their fitness dreams come true.

And then, the magic happened. In 2013, they opened their first real-deal Burn Boot Camp location. Morgan left her Kellogg’s job to go all in, and they soon had 350 members! By 2015, with five company locations up and running, Burn started Franchising and handed three corporate gyms to eager Franchise Partners.

Even when the pandemic hit and gyms were going through some tough times, we retained over 70% of our awesome members. Why? Because we put our community first. We’ve always been about adding value to people’s lives, and that’s the secret sauce of Burn Boot Camp’s success!

For those who don’t know, we offer killer 45-minute group workouts called Camps with different Protocol every day. We started as a women-only gym but have evolved to include everyone. We’ve got various membership options, Camp Packs, and Fit Cards for ultimate flexibility.

Now, here’s the kicker: Morgan was everywhere in the early days, from training to payroll to scrubbing floors. She led from the front, embracing every challenge alongside her team. That’s the kind of leadership she embodies – rolling up her sleeves, facing the heat, and always having her team’s back.

At Burn Boot Camp, community is everything! High fives are our thing – they connect us, motivate us, and make us feel like one big fitness family. And guess what? We’re stepping up our game with a brand-new mobile app now out. We know tech is king, but we’re keeping the heart and soul of Burn Boot Camp alive. It’s all about connection, belonging, and feeling the love!

So, there you have it, the Burn Boot Camp story in all its glory. From humble beginnings in a parking lot to a nationwide fitness sensation, we’re here to help you thrive, sweat, and achieve your fitness goals. Join us, feel the Burn, and be part of our incredible community!

We have many Franchise Partners and HQ employees with incredible journeys. We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Nicole Odom, Director of Field Operations, as she took us on a remarkable journey, reflected on her experiences in the Navy, and shared the valuable lessons she has learned along the way. As a former member of the military, Nicole discusses how her time in the service prepared her for persistence, adaptability, and multitasking. She highlights the challenges she faced, including being unable to graduate from flight school, which served as a pivotal moment in her life, teaching her the importance of perseverance and resilience in the face of failure.

Nicole also reveals the profound impact her military service had on her personal growth and relationships. She emphasizes the lasting friendships she formed and the realization that she is capable of accomplishing difficult tasks. As a woman in a male-dominated industry, Nicole faced unique challenges, but she discovered her voice, learned to stand up for her beliefs, and recognized the importance of knowing her worth.

With Veterans making up 14% of the franchise network, it’s evident that they have a natural inclination for franchise ownership and entrepreneurship. Thanks to their disciplined nature, Veterans excel in following guidelines, time management, and planning. They also thrive under pressure and possess exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Burn Boot Camp proudly offers a 15% franchise fee discount for Veterans through their partnership with VetFran, as we recognize and respect the core values Veterans embody.
