Parenting always feels like such a hot button topic because everyone has their own opinions + experiences that they bring to the table. It’s safe to say that all parents experience unsolicited advice and even judgment at some point. If we let that in, it’s so easy to find ourselves down a rabbit hole of mom guilt. 

But, there’s hope yet! We’ve been given the gift of being parents, and we have the power to control how we navigate through the world with our kiddos. At the end of the day, we all need to do what is best for our kids, which we know better than anybody else.

Today I’m sharing some of my favorite tools for dealing with this: 

  • Take a look at the source of the advice.
  • Build out a trusted network of resources. 
  • Have confidence in yourself. 
  • Let the negativity roll off your back. 
  • Don’t put judgment out there. 

There’s no one size fits all approach to parenting, and we all need the space to figure out what works for us. Let’s shower each other with more support and kindness and less judgment!

Significant changes in our lives can make us feel lost, maybe even unrecognizable, both physically, mentally. Today, I am encouraging you to be proud of the person you are every day. 

The decade challenge has been floating around social media. I participated in the challenge by posting a picture of Devan and me from the present-day and ten years ago. I read so many captions on other people’s decade challenge posts that read something like: 

“This is what kids will do to you.”  or… 

“10 years ago and 10 pounds thinner, too!” 

Stop focusing on the things that you miss from your past life, focus on what you have gained! It takes a concerted effort to reconnect with yourself, make time for yourself, and take care of yourself. 

I want you to stop feeling guilty about your 45-minute workout, lunch by yourself, heading to bed early to read, or even watching an hour of your favorite show! 

Today I am giving you some of my best practices that I try to integrate into my life to keep myself a priority.

  • Schedule it on your calendar 🗓
  • Prioritize quality time with the people you love 💛
  • Pursue your passions GUILT-FREE ⭐
  • Give back 🎗
  • Meditate 🧘‍♀️

Today we’re joined by a badass, mom of 3, personal trainer, and CrossFit athlete – Emily Breeze. Emily’s built her career up around this motto: you don’t have to be fit to start, but you have to start to be fit. Her followers have come to love her for her real, authentic, and honest take on how to incorporate fitness into your everyday life.

As a mom of two with one on the way, I’m super passionate about what it looks like to stay fit as a mom. Emily shares that for her to be a happy mother and wife, she needs that 30 – 60 minutes to sweat every day. But, Emily also believes that the world is our playground when it comes to working out and she shares tons of inspiration on how you can fit that workout in nearly anywhere. It’s so easy to forget that working out is simply movement. Emily reminds us how important it is to find the movement that works for you, whatever that may look like. 

With three kiddos under the age of three, Emily also has lots of perspective on motherhood, pregnancy, and where fitness fits into all of that. We chat about the fitness shaming that too often goes on when women choose to have a super active pregnancy, as well as how quickly society expects women to bounce back. Emily also shares her experience with c-sections and some of the treatments she’s done to help heal scar tissue and get movement patterns back to where they were before pregnancy. 


All in all, Emily reminded us that wellness is truly about balance and finding what works for you. We chatted lots about motherhood and pregnancy, but so much of Emily’s advice is relevant for everyone – to move forward with a healthy lifestyle you just have to put one foot forward and then the next.
