If not, you can wear whatever makes you feel confident! This is about physical and emotional changes. If you’re joining this challenge to lose weight, great, we want to help. If you’re joining this challenge because you’ve fallen off the health and fitness wagon, we’re here to pick you back up! It should be exciting to anticipate the results that you’re going to see at the end of the month! Think of the photo as a teaser for what’s to come. This is only the beginning!

Commit To: Tracking Your Progress.

Many clients feel discouraged when they have to get their weight and inches measured… but don’t let it get you down! You have to start somewhere. Isn’t this exactly WHY you’re here!? You’re here to improve and become the best version of yourself! Don’t let those numbers get in your head, making you feel incapable of conquering them. Let the numbers on the scale motivate you to improve. Inspire yourself and your peers by proving how hard you’re going to work during your 30 days of Commit 2 Fit! The results will come, and your confidence will soar!

Commit To: Holding Yourself Accountable.

Our accountability calendar is the ideal resource to keep you on track during Commit 2 Fit! We’ll suggest fun and simple tasks like checking into camp on Facebook during the week, wearing your Bleed Blue tank on Saturdays for our “Blue Outs” and whipping up Burn Nutrition recipes to share on social media, just to name a few! We encourage all of our clients to come to camp at least 4 times, preferably 6 times a week, during their Commit 2 Fit challenge… which we understand will occasionally feel difficult. That’s why this calendar is here to help you get to camp and commit to putting your fitness and wellness first!

Commit To: Taking Care of Your Body

If you’re coming to camp four to six times a week, getting your heart rate up and pushing yourself at camp, you need to fuel your body. Our 10 Point Nutrition Plan and Grocery Guide is included in our Commit 2 Fit challenge to help you regulate what you’re eating and how you feel. If you want to get stronger and create lasting results, you have to be aware of your diet! While eating clean and staying on track with nutrition is vital in your Burn journey, so is stretching and reviving your muscles. We’re providing all of our Commit 2 Fit participants with a 17 minute stretch routine that will restore your sore muscles and prepare you for camps throughout the entire month! Take care of yourself. Remember, fitness is as much exercise as it is rest and rejuvenation.

Commit To: Having Fun

Our Commit 2 Fit challenge is designed with our clients in mind! We want you to come to camp every day ready to sweat, socialize with your best gals and strive beat your numbers in our weekly challenges! It’s about fitness but it’s also about having fun adopting a healthy lifestyle that will last way beyond this month. As April moves along we look forward to celebrating five years of Burn and five years of bringing women together through a common love of health and fitness – and what better way to do that than Commit 2 Fit!

So now that you’ve heard the breakdown… it’s time to make the commitment! Don’t hesitate. Choose to take care of your health! Choose to put yourself first! Choose to take your fitness to the next level! Are you ready to commit?

Hey Burn Fam https://burnbootcamp.com/hey-burn-fam-2/ https://burnbootcamp.com/hey-burn-fam-2/#comments Thu, 14 Sep 2017 20:05:30 +0000 https://burnbootcamp.com/?p=15507 [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Hey Burn Fam, It’s Fine…

If you plan your grocery shopping, laundry, lunch dates and dinner plans around camp times.

To get your kids hooked on “Raising The Bar” with their household chores… and to cheer when your son makes up his bed in one minute and thirty six seconds.

If you walk up the stairs post leg day feeling like you’ve suddenly aged 40 years.

If you’re idea of a “juice cleanse” is skipping your favorite glass of wine at girls night. Check out that motivation!

To spend an excessive amount of time doing laundry so that you can re-wear your Burn gear every week. We don’t judge!

To have a favorite spot on the floor at camp … and to be childishly territorial of it.

To unfollow that one Instagram account that posts 1,500 pictures of food each day. You don’t need that temptation in your life!

To feel like you’ve just hiked Mt. Everest whenever you hit a new personal record… and to share the proof on Facebook, Instagram and every social media platform you’re a part of.

To hide a secret stash of Shaklee bars in your car console so that you can get your protein fix the minute you leave your sweat session.

To confuse your husband when you refer to your boot camp buddies as your “Burn Sisters.” You have to experience it to understand the bond you have!

We love our Burn family and the community that we have together! If you want to be more involved, sign up below and we’ll chat all the time!

Disconnect and Reflect https://burnbootcamp.com/disconnect-and-reflect/ Thu, 16 Feb 2017 20:38:43 +0000 https://burnbootcamp.com/?p=15592 Phones.  Ipads. Tablets. Ipods. Televisions. Laptops… we can all probably name an electronic that we are addicted to. I hate to admit it, but I can honestly say that I own at least four different pieces of technology that I use on a day to day basis. Our world is being consistently flooded with “new and improved” gadgets that we just “have to have right now!” I know it’s genuinely difficult to put down your electronics and focus on what’s in front of you, but I can tell you it will be more than worth it when you do!

Unplugging comes with a whirlwind of health and wellness benefits! We’re going to give you a few of our favorite reasons why you should disconnect and reflect.

You Become More Aware

The minute you put down your technology you’ll be amazed at what you notice going on around you. The other day I put my phone down and I picked up a book that I’ve been wanting to read. Yep, a real book. Not a Kindle, not a Nook… a book that has pages you can turn and a binding you can crack, and I sat in my living room with the sun shining in and read for hours. It was glorious. I was expanding my mind, resting, and giving myself a mental break from the bright light that shines at me from my various gadgets. Soak in your surroundings and take advantage of the things you can do with your day that will make you a better person. Big things or little things. You’ll be surprised at how gratifying it really is!

You Stop Negative Comparison

We’ve all heard the phrase “social media is just their highlight reel” and for a huge percentage of people, that’s clearly the truth. It’s as if every post you see on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter is about some glamorous vacation so-and-so has been on or a new jump they’ve made in their career. As much as you want to just swipe past it, it’s hard to not let those things deflate your confidence. Comparison is the thief of joy, and technology is only prolonging that!

Your Values Change

Quality over Quantity. People these days are so concerned with the amount of followers they have, but would you say those followers are your friends? I like to think of it this way… how many of your followers could you call if your kid was sick? How many followers could you reach out to if your car broke down and you needed a ride home? How many of them would send you a letter if someone in your family had passed away? How many would surprise you at your doorstep if you were having a bad day? Do you see what I’m saying? Put time and effort into the friendships that are in it for the long haul.

You Have More Face to Face Communication

One of the most difficult aspects of talking solely through technology is that you lack the advantages that come with reading body language. I know there have been countless times when I type out a text way too quickly and hit send before I realize that what I said would’ve come across way more clearly if I had been able to say it face to face. Take the time to put the phone down and set up a date where you can see your friends and family, reach out and touch them and look into their eyes when you’re talking! It will build stronger relationships and strengthen your communication.

Your Sleep Improves

Studies have proven that the bright blue light that is emitted from your technology screen stalls the production of melatonin in the brain. Try turning off your phone, tablet and television 30 minutes prior to going to bed. This will give your brain some time to slip into sleep-mode and help your body physically and mentally unwind.

Morgan Kline : Eat This Not That https://burnbootcamp.com/morgan-kline-etnt/ Mon, 16 Jan 2017 20:37:28 +0000 https://burnbootcamp.com/?p=14759 Our very own CFO and Co-Founder Morgan Kline was recently featured in a article published by Eat This Not That! Fitness gurus and moguls from all over the country gave their input on setting resolutions for the New Year. Today we’re going to dig a little deeper into how Morgan accomplishes her goals each year and manages to keep improving in fitness and in her personal life. This morning we sat down with a cup of coffee and got an inside look…

What is your resolution for 2017?
I want to work on my weaknesses – in and out of the gym. I’m going to focus on how I can improve and continue to grow and get better at the things that take me outside of my comfort zone! I’m not allowing myself to skip workouts, and I’ll develop my personal skills by reading more books and listening to other leaders in my industry.

How do you go about making sure you will follow through with your resolutions…
Writing my goals down so I can see them everyday. Right now, I have goals written on my bathroom mirror so I am reminded of them every time I look in it!

Why is it important to set personal goals?
If I never set goals for myself, I never grow. It’s easy to become complacent in your life and never strive to become a better version of yourself. I like to challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone, whether that be in the gym, in my workplace, or at home.

Once you accomplish a fitness goals, how do you stay motivated to set a new?
Tell a buddy that you reached your goal – a spouse, workout partner, or friend. Make sure it’s someone that will challenge you to set more goals in the future!

What is the most difficult fitness goal that you’ve ever achieved?
Getting back in shape after I had my daughter Cameron. I knew going into my pregnancy that I wanted to stay fit and active throughout my pregnancy but once she came, life got busier than ever and it would have been easy to let my fitness fall to the wayside. With a fitness franchise tripling in size by the month, a newborn baby, a household to run, and a gym to manage I often put myself last. However, I knew I wanted to feel better, look good, and prove to myself and my clients that being a mom doesn’t mean you can’t have it all. My clients motivated me to be in the gym consistently, eat healthy, and get back in shape. I am happy to say that I lost all my baby weight, plus some and feel better than ever! It was a difficult journey and one that is never “over”, but a journey that is always worth it!

What are you most looking forward to in 2017?
Growing as an individual. Becoming the best version of myself as a mom, wife, trainer, business owner, and friend!

What is your favorite inspirational quote for this year?
“Set impossible goals, and then prove yourself wrong.” – I love this quote because it challenges me to set goals that I need to work hard for, not just goals that I know will be attainable.

Are you ready to crush some new fitness goals in 2017? Start now!

10 Easy Ways to Burn Fat Faster https://burnbootcamp.com/10-easy-ways-to-burn-fat-faster/ Mon, 21 Mar 2016 18:43:11 +0000 https://burnbootcamp.com/?p=8660 There is a reason I crossed out the word ‘easy’ and put ‘simple instead’. There isn’t much that comes with lifestyle change, health, fitness, wellness etc. that comes easy. The answers however, are simple (easy to understand). As a health fitness professional it is my desire and my passion to help anyone that I cross paths with, to reach their goals if that is what they are seeking. A lot of times, that involves enlightening them on what to believe and what not to believe when it comes to health and wellness. If you are ever promised fast, easy, effortless results, RUN. Most likely they will not be healthy, maintainable or realistic methods that you should use to reach your goals.

I want to help educate you on ways to help burn fat faster, as part of a lifestyle change, not a quick fix that is promised to you that will create miracles 3 weeks before your next planned vacation. I want to help bring out the healthier, stronger version of you through these methods which all can almost be grouped into two categories… you guessed it… diet and exercise. So here it goes, 10 Simple Ways to Burn Fat Faster.

  1. Increase your protein intake – Increasing the amount of protein you get in your diet will help boost your metabolism and also help maintain your muscle mass which we will talk about later. Both increased metabolism and increased muscle mass are catalysts for burning fat.
  2. Drink more water – The more hydrated you are, the more efficiently your body will run. If you are not properly hydrated, your body will not do its job efficiently and will in turn slow down your metabolism. Slower metabolism = slower fat burning process.
  3. EAT BREAKFAST – Kick start your metabolism from the get go! Eating breakfast will get your metabolism going early, so that your body will process properly for the rest of the day. Also, if your first meal is early, you are less likely to overeat/over snack during the rest of the day as a result of being hungry.
  4. Increase fiber – Increasing your fiber through clean, healthy sources (fruits and vegetables) will help keep you fuller longer. Dark colored vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, and artichokes are all great sources of fiber.
  5. Increase good fat intake – When you increase one macronutrient (protein, fat, carbohydrate) you must decrease another to reach your caloric goals. By decreasing carb intake, and increasing fat, you lower insulin levels in your body. By doing this, you allow your body to access fat stores and use them for energy, while “also allowing fat to enter and fuel your muscles (https://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/how-eating-more-fat-helps-you-lose-more-weight.html)
  6. Eat smaller, more frequent meals – By doing this, you allow your metabolism to be continuously running smoothly throughout the day.
  7. Take a look at when you are consuming your carbs – The timing in which you consume your carbs, as well as the source of carbs can play a role in fat loss. Try and keep your carb consumption to the morning, and/or after your workout. This way your body will use those carbohydrates as fuel instead of storing them as fat. Also, try and get your carbohydrates form clean sources such as sweet potatoes, oatmeal, other vegetables, etc.
  8. Increase lean muscle mass (LIFT WEIGHTS! That means you too ladies!) – Increasing lean muscle mass will allow your body to burn calories even after you are done working out! Simply put, the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn even at rest.
  9. Incorporate HIIT into your training – High Intensity Interval Training will give you a better bang for you buck when it comes to cardio. Adding short bursts of high intensity followed by brief rest periods will allow you to burn more calories, in a shorter amount of time.
  10. SLEEP – How great is it to be told you need to sleep more!? This means going to bed earlier for those of us who wake up before the sun. Studies show that people who get more sleep make better food choices, and consume less extra calories than those who are sleep deprived.

So, as you can see, these are not necessarily easy lifestyle changes to incorporate into your every day, however they are simple, necessary steps that need to be taken in order to increase fat loss. Try adding 2-3 of these methods into your daily routine to start, and see what differences you notice! Eat clean, train mean, burn fat, and become a stronger, more confident, more energetic version of you.
